Freezing in winter, sweltering in summer, the glazed in gym at Hutchesons' Boys Grammar School, in Crossmyloof, was a scene of triumph and disaster for many young scholars.
Seen here shortly after its opening in 1957, the new school's gym was on the first floor, offering great views; but not if you were caught gazing out the window!
And, could that be a young Alec Percy, the school's fearsome head of PE, putting the boys through their paces ahead of the start of the cricket season?
